The Lord is My Rock
The Lord is My Rock.

My indestructible Fort Knocks.

Limestone. Granite. Marble. Turf.

He created the bedrock of the earth.

I will not be shattered.

I WILL not break.

My rock is still beneath me

So my heart will not faint.

Boulders like birthstones are a passing whim

The big rock EARTH is just a pebble to Him.

Asphalt. Concrete. Sweet Cement.

Won't keep for eternity, —nor hold your rent.

On the Lord ALONE will his people stand.

He's a MIGHTY rock, —not mere shifting sand.

The Lord is my Rock I will not fear.

I'm standing for God and I will not veer

To the right or to the left, I'll hold my ground.

For Christ the SOLID rock I've found.

The Lord my rock is a strong defense.

You can take your Goliath and not be tense.

No cracks. No faults. He's perfect; —no wrong.

His beauty and majesty are forever strong.

My feet hold firm like mountains of faith

Planted deep down—no storm can shake.

Babylon. Rome. Now the Parthenon.

Rocks of the ancients will soon be gone.

Still all of earth's granite won't keep your life steady

But the Lord's own foundation is waiting and ready.

To give your life firmness and purpose to stand

Forever He'll keep you on his treasured Land!

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. Psalm 18:2
