The mission of River Community Fellowship is to transform lives into Christ's image and to develop a vibrant, loving community of faith, through the teaching of the whole counsel of God. (Acts 20: 26-27) Our desire is to build authentic relationships with God and others through this loving, growing, and uplifting family.

God

We believe that God is the Creator of the Universe (Gen 1:1) and the Provider, Protector, and Restorer of His Created Beings. We believe that He is an eternal (Ps 90: 2) and holy (set-apart) Father who has sovereign control of the universe (Ps 103:19) He offers us a relationship with Him that gives us a new identity, a new purpose, and a new plan to honor Him. (John 3:16)

Jesus

We believe that Jesus is God's one and only chosen Son and the true reflection of His perfect love. (John 1:1-5, Col 1:13-19) We believe He was fully man and fully God and sent upon the earth to offer reconciliation with God and the forgiveness of sins.(John 3:16, Phil 2:5-11) We believe He has the power to heal (still) and the power to forgive sins and make us right with the Heavenly Father by His righteousness. His simple life, devoted to serving God and others, was a wonderful testimony of His compassion and heart. His death and resurrection were an amazing testimony of His power and authority over creation, death, heaven and hell. (Eph 1:20-22)

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person in equal relationship with God the Father and Christ the Son. (1 Cor 6:11,19) He is called Helper (John 14:26) Comforter, and Defender. The Spirit's work is to convict mankind of sin, guide him in all truth, teach him and grow him to the full measure for which God desires. (John 16:8-11,13-14, Rom 8:14-16, 1 Cor 2:9-13)

The Trinity

The relationship of each one (Father, Son, and Spirit) (Matt 3:16-17, 28:19, 2 Cor 13:14) is a model of complete unity and demonstrates how we are to find our completion in each other. We have a personal relationship with a God we call Father through the sacrifice of Christ, and are led by His Holy Spirit. (Rom 8:14-17, Heb 9:14)

Man

We believe man has been created in the image of God, (Gen 1:27) and designed for relationship with Him our Creator. The relationship was broken through man's sinful, selfish ways. (Rom 3:23) We believe that all men will live eternally, either bound for Heaven by faith in Christ, or bound for Hell in their unforgiven sin. (Rom 6:23) We are offered an eternal relationship with God and the hope of one day helping Him to rule His coming Kingdom. (Rev 20:4-6)

The Bible

We believe the Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. It is about a person, Jesus Christ. The Old Testament is the history of man, and his need for a savior, and the prophecies of a coming Messiah. The New Testament is the revealing of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, His life, teachings, death and resurrection; salvation doctrines taught, and the end times proclaimed. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding. Its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. The Bible is divinely inspired, without fault, and profitable for inspiring, teaching, and correcting. (2 Tim 3:16, 1 Peter 1 20,21) Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, practice it to be holy.

Faith

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. (Heb 11:1) A life of faith is one that is willing to trust the Lord, to obey Him, and to believe that He is providing what is best for the believer

Salvation

We believe that salvation comes only one way...through a relationship with Jesus Christ and faith in His divine power to forgive sins through His death and resurrection (Matt 7:21-23; Eph 2:8; Rom 10:9-10).
